Wife Carrying Contest
Contestants must be 18 years of age or more in order to compete. Registration is open for all as long as the person being carried is at least 108 pounds. If they are not, backpacks with rocks must be worn until they meet the weight requirement. Helmets are recommended for the person being carried. This will take place in the Green Space just west of the Snow College football field at 3:00 PM on Saturday. Registration is $15 per couple and waivers will be signed on site before the competition begins.

Pickleball Tournament
The Scandinavian Festival Pickleball Tournament will take place at the Ephraim Sports Complex. All players who have registered (link below) for the tournament are to check in at 4:00 PM on May 25th for 2.5/3.0 and 5:15 for 3.5/4.0. Players must bring their own paddle to participate. Prizes will be awarded to winners of the tournament!
Beard Contest
Do you think your beard compares to the beards of Eric Bloodaxe, Erik the Red, or the great viking Egil Skallagrimsson? Come show off your facial hair at the festival’s beard contest! Come to the event with your locks of facial hair and be judged by a selected panel which includes Lars the Viking. Judges will rate each beard on a rubric and the person with the highest rated home-grown beard will be crowned the champion of this year’s beard contest.
Registration Info: Registration is free and the contest will take place at 1:30 pm at the main stage. Prizes will be awarded to the winners!

Spillingsskatten Scavenger Hunt
In 1999 the ‘Spillingsskatten,’ or Spillings Hoard, was the world’s largest Viking silver treasure ever discovered.
T-Mobile Ephraim is sponsoring our own “Spillingsskatten” Hunt on Saturday at Scandinavian Days! Pick up the first clue at 11:00 AM on Saturday from the T-Mobile booth at the festival. An HK Onyx Speaker (worth $500) has been donated by T-Mobile as our Grand Prize and will be given to the first contestant to complete the HUNT!
